Project Details

An intermodal shipping facility in the Seattle area had an urgent need to address pollutants in their stormwater runoff. They had been targeted by a third party Clean Water Act lawsuit and needed a large-scale treatment system in a short timeframe. They chose Clear Creek to provide proof-of-concept work, engineering design, and ultimately fabrication and installation of the system.

Clear Creek worked closely on all aspects of the project from start to finish. Multiple bench tests were performed by Clear Creek to verify the treatment technology and finalized the system design. Design concepts were tailored to the site, fitting a very large treatment system in a tight footprint. Clear Creek also provided rental systems to treat contaminated groundwater found on the site before the project infrastructure upgrades could be completed. The system was installed ahead of schedule, meeting all consent decree requirements.
