Caltrans contracted with Tiechert to build a bypass on Highway 108 in Sonora CA. Under CA General Stormwater Permit, storm water was required to be discharged to a nearby creek. Initial attempts to provide erosion control by standard BMPs proved ineffective to meet discharge requirements.
Clear Creek mobilized a 900 gpm Active Treatment System based upon a 5.5″ 10-year 24 hour storm system, to meet the discharge criteria. The system was comprised of treatment tanks, a compliance and control monitoring module, and Chitosan enhanced sand filter system. Clear Creek provided the equipment, installation, and operations of the system.
