Sea Plane lagoon was dredged in preparation for redevelopment of Alameda Naval Station and Treasure Island. The lagoon was suspected to contain hydrocarbons and trace metals due to former use. Dredge spoils were brought up into holding wells. The leachate from the holding wells was transferred to holding tanks.
Clear Creek mobilized two treatment systems to take water from the holding tanks, treat the water, and return to the lagoon using a 250 gpm and a 1,000 gpm Passive Treatment System. The systems consisted of settling tanks, sand filtration, bag and cartridge systems, hydrocarbon removal media, pumps, and piping. Clear Creek provided installation and training for the client.
